چکیده
The satellite based monitoring initiative for regional air quality (SAMIRA) was set up to demonstrate the exploitation of existing data and urban scale quality. project carried out between May 2016 December 2019 focused on aerosol optical depth (AOD), particulate matter (PM), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur (SO2). SAMIRA built around several research tasks: 1. spinning enhanced visible infrared imager (SEVIRI) AOD optimal estimation algorithm improved geographically extended from Poland Romania, Czech Republic Southern Norway. A near real-time retrieval implemented is currently operational. Correlation coefficients 0.61 0.62 were found SEVIRI ground-based sun-photometer Romania Poland, respectively. 2. ground-level concentrations PM2.5 using in combination with WRF-Chem output. For representative sites a correlation 0.56 0.49 satellite-based situ Republic, 3. An operational fusion make use various products (NO2, SO2, AOD, PM10). inclusion mapping NO2 rural areas an annual basis background areas. It slightly SO2. satellites or results PM10. 4. geostatistical downscaling developed bridge gap towards urban-scale applications. Initial testing synthetic followed by applying OMI direct comparison against high-resolution TROPOMI as reference, thus allowing quantitative assessment performance demonstrating significant accuracy improvements after downscaling. We can conclude that demonstrated added value regional- monitoring.

Participatory Patterns in an International Air Quality Monitoring Initiative
The issue of sustainability is at the top of the political and societal agenda, being considered of extreme importance and urgency. Human individual action impacts the environment both locally (e.g., local air/water quality, noise disturbance) and globally (e.g., climate change, resource use). Urban environments represent a crucial example, with an increasing realization that the most effective...

15 صفحه اولMODIS and OMI satellite observations supporting air quality monitoring.
Within the framework of air quality monitoring, measurements by Earth-observing satellite sensors are combined here with regional meteorological and chemical transport models. Two satellite-derived products developed within the QUITSAT project, regarding significant pollutants including PM(2.5) and NO(2), are presented. Estimates of PM(2.5) concentrations at ground level were obtained using mod...

Air quality modeling could potentially improve exposure estimates for use in epidemiological studies. We investigated this application of air quality modeling by estimating location-specific (point) and spatially-aggregated (county level) exposure concentrations of particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than or equal to 2.5 μm (PM(2.5)) and ozone (O(3)) for the eastern U.S. in 200...
متن کاملMixed Initiative Scheduling for the Air Force Satellite Control Network
Scheduling access to Air Force satellites is an over-constrained problem. Over 500 requests for access are received for each day's operation; after manual scheduling, over 100 con icts typically remain in the schedule. We are developing a prototype scheduling system that will assist human schedulers in this problem. Automated scheduling promises to reduce the number of con icts, but will never ...
